In this opening theme animation I created for Kanal D's 2020 New Year's Eve programming, I reinterpreted the letters of the channel's logo as New Year's gifts. Each letter transforms into a gift package with its own character: a red wrapper with a gold ribbon, pink polka-dot paper, a white package with a star pattern, a yellow wrapper with a heart, and blue paper with snowflakes — all completed with satin ribbons and bows. The camera moves among the letters on a macro scale, drawing the viewer into this gift universe; bokeh lights and glitter particles give the scene a New Year's atmosphere.
The technical weight of the project lay in material production: the semi-gloss surfaces of wrapping paper, the anisotropic reflections of satin ribbons, and the layered geometry of bows were modeled in Cinema 4D and rendered photorealistically with Octane Render. The shallow depth of field and focus transitions required by the macro camera language were established during the rendering phase; particle layers, composites, and color grading were completed in After Effects.
The New Year's Eve broadcast is the most emotional moment of the year for the channel's identity: the logo should become the celebration itself. In this work, each letter was designed as a gift extended to the viewer — a direct visual representation of the channel's New Year's message.
