In this channel graphic animation I created for Kanal D's summer screen identity, I reinterpreted the channel's logo as a swimming pool in a summer resort. The "D" shape of the logo transforms into the pool's architecture, while the word "SUMMER" is constructed using inflatable pool mattresses floating on the water; the composition, surrounded by beach balls, swimming rings, and sun loungers, is designed as a bird's-eye view of a summer scene.
I performed the 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting phases of the project in Cinema 4D; I used Octane Render for photorealistic water, caustic, and inflatable material surfaces. Details such as the PVC texture of the inflatable letters and the refraction and reflections of the pool water were defining elements of the rendering phase. Composite rendering, color grading, and adaptation of the animation to the broadcast package were completed in After Effects.
Summer screen opening sequences form the seasonal face of the channel's identity: it's necessary to convey the atmosphere of the season while maintaining the logo's recognition. In this work, the logo ceased to be merely a graphic element and became the very setting in which the animation takes place.
