Beykoz University Faculty of Art and Design | Istanbul | April 4, 2022
Upon the invitation of the Communication and Design Program of the Faculty of Art and Design at Beykoz University, I gave a seminar titled "Color Theories in Corporate Identity Design" in the Undergraduate Campus Conference Hall on April 4, 2022.
In the seminar, we addressed color, one of the defining components of corporate identity, from both theoretical and practical perspectives: the cultural and psychological connotations of colors, the significance of color in expressing a brand's mission and vision, and the fundamental principles brands should consider when choosing colors formed the main focus of the session. Drawing on my experience as a motion graphic designer at Kanal D for nearly ten years, I shared with the students how color decisions are made during the design process and how they are reflected on screen.
The session, initiated by design students' questions about color, transformed from a one-way presentation into a lively discussion; deciphering the color codes that brands have ingrained in our minds in everyday life was the most enjoyable part of the seminar.
I would like to thank the Faculty of Art and Design at Beykoz University, especially Prof. Dr. Pınar Seden Meral, for this invitation, and all the students who enriched the seminar with their interest.
