Kanal D - Gelinim Mutfakta

My Daughter-in-Law in the Kitchen

This opening animation I created for Kanal D's daytime competition program Gelinim Mutfakta (My Bride in the Kitchen) is based on a three-dimensional pop-up book concept. As the pages of the book are turned, the world of the program comes to life layer by layer: paper-cut kitchen cabinets, a refrigerator, and a wall clock create a kitchen; the program logo, the host, and competition elements (scoring plates, pots, gold) are placed on the stage as cut-out paper figures.

The pop-up book mechanism formed the aesthetic and technical backbone of the project. The page folding and unfolding animations, the texture of the paper and cardboard materials, and the book's binding details were modeled and animated in Cinema 4D; the relationship between the paper surfaces and light, and the depth of field were rendered photorealistically using Octane Render. The integration of the presenter and food photos, cut from real footage, into the three-dimensional scene as paper figures, along with the composite and color grading stages, was completed in After Effects.

Daytime show opening credits must instantly create the program's intimate, home-like atmosphere. This concept, which combines the warmth of a handmade book with three-dimensional production, translates the program's "kitchen and family" theme into graphic language.
