I worked as a director, editor, 2/3D animation specialist, and FPV drone pilot on the 2023 promotional film for Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. The film tells the story of the university using a hybrid production style that combines live footage, aerial shots, and animation.
One of the distinctive elements of the production was the use of FPV (First Person View) drone footage of campus spaces. Unlike the static, high-altitude aesthetic of traditional drone footage, FPV piloting creates seamless and dynamic transitions through the spaces, physically immersing the viewer in the scale of the campus. I edited these shots together with 2D/3D animation and graphic layers that reflect the university's corporate identity.
The film was produced with Muhammed Ali Öger handling the cinematography, visual effects, sound, and color design; Dr. Hasan Yaman served as production coordinator; and the lighting, set, and production teams collaborated on the project. A corporate promotional film is the most visible media product through which a university presents itself to thousands of prospective students in seconds; the aim of this project was to combine the gravitas of a well-established institution with a contemporary visual language.
